Grandvalira

Grandvalira links the valleys of Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, Soldeu, El Tarter, Canillo and Encamp into Andorra’s biggest ski domain. It offers high-altitude skiing to roughly 2,640 m across varied terrain for cruisers, families and freeriders. The resort combines an extensive lift network with dedicated ski schools and park facilities.

 Summary

Grandvalira is a large, connected ski area occupying most of northeastern Andorra, known for long cruisers, accessible beginner zones and off-piste pockets at higher elevations. The domain is split into several sectors — Pas de la Casa–Grau Roig, Soldeu–El Tarter, Canillo and Encamp — served by an extensive lift system.

The resort caters to families, intermediates and park riders with marked nursery slopes, ski schools and dedicated freestyle zones. Winters feature organised events and a broad choice of on-mountain restaurants and services across the main villages.

The ski area of Grandvalira comprises the ski slopes of 5 ski areas, including Canillo, Ordino-Arcalís and Pas de la Casa / Grau Roig.

The ski area includes 5 Ski Resorts with a combined total of 286 marked pistes, served by a total of 66 ski lifts. The appropriate Lift Pass allows you to ski or snowboard in any of the ski areas of Canillo, Encamp, Ordino-Arcalís, Pas de la Casa / Grau Roig and Soldeu / El Tarter.

The ski resort itself is at 1,710m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 2,640m, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

Skiing

The Grandvalira domain covers roughly 210 km of marked pistes with a top elevation close to 2,640 m and lower bases around the high valleys. The area is made up of linked sectors — Pas de la Casa–Grau Roig in the east, SoldeuEl Tarter in the centre, plus Canillo and Encamp — allowing long linked descents and easy transfers between sectors.

Key pieces of infrastructure include the Funicamp cable-car linking Encamp into the higher terrain and the gondolas serving Soldeu and El Tarter, which give rapid access to high pistes and park areas. Pistes vary from wide high-altitude cruisers and gentle beginner runs to steeper red and black slopes and freeride terrain off the marked runs, especially around Grau Roig and Pas de la Casa. The lift network is designed for efficient movement across the domain, with on-mountain restaurants and service points at major junctions.

There are a variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier ability, from Beginner to Expert.

Snowboarding

Snowboarders have dedicated terrain in El Tarter’s snowpark, which hosts features such as jumps, rails and boardercross lines. Pas de la Casa and Grau Roig offer freeride-accessible terrain and steeper off-piste options; groomed cruisers and wide blues also make the resort good for carving and all-mountain riding.
