Pitztal

One of Europe's highest and most snow-sure ski areas, and certainly the highest mountains in Austria's famous Tyrol, Pitztal's glacier ski area is accessed by an underground funicular (with 10,000 stairs running along the side of it) from September until May.

Summary

The region of Pitztal comprises the ski slopes of HochZeiger, Pitztaler Gletscher and Rifflsee.

The ski area includes 3 Ski Resorts with a combined total of 48km of downhill skiing, with 40 marked pistes, served by a total of 22 ski lifts. The appropriate Lift Pass allows you to ski or snowboard in any of the ski areas of HochZeiger, Pitztaler Gletscher and Rifflsee.

The ski resort itself is at 1,740m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 3,440m, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

Skiing

There are a variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier ability, from Beginner to Expert.
