Bad Gastein

The Austrian ski resort of Bad Gastein is in the Austrian Alps at an altitude of 1,050m, with 250km of marked runs.

Summary

Bad Gastein is part of the Gastein ski area with access to 205km of downhill skiing, with 178 marked pistes, served by a total of 50 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Bad Gastein itself (250km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Gastein ski resorts of Bad Hofgastein, Dorfgastein, Graukogel and Sportgastein.

With ski lifts as high as 2,700m, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

There are a variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier ability, from Beginner to Expert.

Bad Gastein offers some good boarding and there is a Snow Park in Bad Gastein.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Bad Gastein is Salzburg, 90 minutes drive away.

Klagenfurt, Ljubljana, Linz, Munich and Innsbruck Airport airports are all within three hours drive.

The 16 ski lifts are able to uplift 70,000 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow-making is available, on 45km of ski runs, with 590 snow cannons.

When is Bad Gastein open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

Usual opening is late December, and usual closing is Mid April.
