A major resort with excellent facilities off-piste and on, the latter including the cable-car linked Goldeck ski area above. The Four Province cross-country ski trail from Cortina d'Ampezzo to Villach passes through Spittal on its 200km (125 mile) route.


The Austrian ski resort of Goldeck is in the Austrian Alps at an altitude of 560m, with 22km of marked runs.

Goldeck has direct access to 22km of downhill skiing, with 12 marked pistes, served by a total of 7 ski lifts.

With ski lifts as high as 2,140m, snow cover is generally reliable.


There are a variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier ability, from Beginner to Expert.


Goldeck offers some good boarding.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Goldeck is Graz, 86 minutes drive away.

Linz, Salzburg, Klagenfurt and Vienna airports are all within three hours drive.

The seven ski lifts are able to uplift 7,000 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow-making is available, on 15km of ski runs, with 5 snow cannons.

When is Goldeck open?

Usual opening is early December, and usual closing is Early April.
