The Ski Podcast to sponsor the ‘Carrick-Smith Boys’

The Ski Podcast has committed to help support British alpine ski racing this winter by sponsoring the Carrick-Smith brothers and by participating in the 'Alpine 100' initiative.
The podcast will give a cash donation to 17-year-old twins, Zak and Freddy Carrick Smith, and their 19-year-old brother Luca to help with their expenses for the 2024/25 season.
Last winter Zac won two medals at the Winter Youth Olympics in January 2024, while his twin Freddy picked up a silver in GS at the French Championships in April. Older brother Luca took gold in slalom at the Austrian National Championships in December 2023.
Iain Martin, founder and host of The Ski Podcast, said:
"The performance of British alpine ski racers has been outstanding in recent years considering the limited amount of funding available."
"The Carrick-Smiths represent the future of British skiing and while the amount of this donation is minor compared with the costs of competing on the race circuit, I'm assured that it will be useful."
The brothers will be recording updates for The Ski Podcast throughout the winter so listeners can follow their progress.

The Ski Podcast is also backing young British racers by contributing to the new 'Alpine 100' fundraising initiative. This is a lottery project designed to help the next generation of aspiring athletes.
The Ski Podcast launched in October 2017 and now has over 220 episodes available, of which over 100 are listened to every week, all around the world.
