Mount Buller Overview

Offering 80+kms of runs, 8000+ slopeside beds, Mt Buller is Australia’s most accessible major alpine resort to an international airport and hosts the Australia Olympic Winter Institute training venue for freestyle skiers and a lively events calendar each winter season.

Other activities include sled dog tours, indoor trampoline facility, retail stores, day spa, gallery and 180 seat movie cinema.

Skiing

The Mount Buller alpine village sits at 1600m with lifted access to 80+kms of marked pistes served by 21 lifts. Ski or board to the village centre. The resort is supported by daily coach services from Melbourne and easy shuttle and lift access from the day carparks.

There are a variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier ability, from Beginner to Expert.

Snowboarding

Mount Buller offers a good variety of natural features and plenty of long rolling groomers ideal for snowboarders. Mt Buller Parks are popular for jibbers with the Koflers beginner park (rollers and low boxes) and then progression to Skyline Park with larger jumps, rails and other features. As conditions permit XL jumps in the Summit Park and a competition Ridercross course. The iconic Burton Cattleman’s Rail Jam event draws top athletes to ride the village staircase each July.

The 21 ski lifts are able to uplift 40,000 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

When is Mount Buller open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

 Closed.

Usual opening is Mid June, and usual closing is Mid Sept.

NOTE:- Ski area, lift and piste opening is subject to Current Snow Conditions.

COVID-19 / Coronavirus

We don't yet have specific details of the COVID-19 precautions being taken in Mount Buller, but they are likely to include most of the following :-

  • Face masks required on lifts, and in shops.
  • Social distancing in public areas.
  • Reduced lift capacity.
  • Extensive disinfection / sanitization.
