In an historic weekend for British snowsports, Team GB athletes delivered a sensational triple gold medal haul at the 2026 X Games Aspen, providing a massive boost just two weeks before the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
British Dominance
The British contingent delivered a masterclass in freestyle skiing and snowboarding, finishing with three golds, one silver, and one bronze.
• Kirsty Muir (pictured above): The 21-year-old Scot claimed her maiden X Games gold in Women's Freeski Slopestyle. Despite a 24-hour weather delay, Muir dominated from the start, posting a massive 93.66 on her opening run—a score no other competitor could match. Muir later added a silver medal in the Big Air event with a score of 94.00.
• Mia Brookes: The 19-year-old snowboard sensation secured gold in Women's Snowboard Slopestyle. Brookes scored 96.33 to beat New Zealand's Zoi Sadowski-Synnott. She also took home a bronze medal in the Big Air competition.
• Zoe Atkin: Atkin reinforced her status as a podium prospect for the Olympics by winning her second career X Games gold in the Women's Freeski Superpipe. She scored 94.66, finishing nearly five points ahead of her nearest rival, 15-year-old Australian Indra Brown.
Looking Toward Milano Cortina
This record-breaking performance has set a confident tone for Team GB ahead of the Winter Olympics, which begin on 06 February 2026.
"It's an absolute dream come true," said Kirsty Muir following her victory. Mia Brookes echoed the sentiment, stating, "This gold is for Team GB and all the people who've supported me".
All three champions are now officially part of the 20-strong squad heading to Italy to represent Great Britain on the world stage.
